Knysna is on the Cape South Coast, 500km east of Cape Town and 260km west of Port Elizabeth. Cape Town is the nearest international airport, and there are regular connecting flights from Johannesburg to George, (not shown on the map) the nearest domestic airport, 65km away to the east. There are also daily flights from Johannesburg to Plettenberg Bay, which is 35km from Knysna.

GETTING THERE:
BY ROAD: Knysna can easily be accessed by road as it lies on the N2 between Cape Town (500 kms) and Port Elizabeth (260 kms).

BY BUS: Bus companies offer daily services to the Garden Route from both Cape Town and Port Elizabeth and car hire services are readily available from any of the cities and towns in and around Knysna.

BY AIR: Access by air is via the domestic airports at George and Plettenberg Bay, which offer a range of flight options daily.

BY RAIL: Rail access is provided by Union Rail and Rovos Rail which offer occasional rail trips to the Garden Route. Consult your local travel agent for more detailed information.
